Hitting a long iron out of rough is rough, becuase the hostel can get tangle, causing the clubface to close and the ball hook. A lofted wood is a far better tool. Don't make a regular swing, though, because the shallow angle of attack traps too much grass between club and ball. Instead, grip three inches down the club. This narrows the arc of your swing. Less grass is caught, so you get better contact, more height and extra distance. |
